superhero

been a long time since i touched this rusty thing. well.. the wheels of this page has been greased and the cobwebs cleared and daddy's back home to his baby.
where should I begin? from today I guess. Watched superman with Wai Yiu at TM today. It was an alright movie, not much of a plot but still, the movie oozed of a super unnatural affection between a woman and an alien. Nah.. just kidding. I guess even the invincible (or rather almost invincible, since he's prone to some chemical combustion with some solid green substance) are vulnerable to the fundamental feeling of love (and of course, that green substance).
Love, the basic roots to affection and devotion. Yet pure as its nature, it embodies an intricate web of complication, devouring feelings of love, sorrow, fear, even other people are caught between its strings. Superman is just another victim.
While the bad guys were walloped and squished with as much ease as munching popcorn whilst watching the show, Superman faced greater obstacles in dappling in the web of love, or what's left of it. Empty promises, broken trust, betrayed hurt, undying longing, sacrifice, loved ones moving on and the emptiness of being left behind... The pain of falling in love. Perhaps more painful than the sky falling down, or in Superman's case, falling from the sky.
Yet, he, like all of us, is ready to take the plunge. The ultimate plunge into the icy waters and unforgiving depths in the ocean of love, just for the one chance to swim through its rich waters of vibrant colour and float with its waves. With so many obstacles to face down this treacherous road, can one be the hero in pursuit of this precious jewel, the heart of the ocean?
Superman did.
He was, for once, not the people's hero but his own saviour.
There are times when one needs to be rescued from savage grasp of love, which did take his breath away.
And within, the hero lives.
